Letter to the Editor: Voters of House Dist. 20 deserve a debate — now

The Virginia 2017 House of Delegates candidates are Republican incumbent Richard “Dickie” Bell, Democrat Michele Edwards, and Libertarian Will Hammer.

We, as the constituents of the 20th District, have a right to hear a live debate between our candidates. A live debate is the only way we will have the opportunity to listen to each of the three choices as they spontaneously answer pertinent questions facing all of us today. After all, one of these candidates will represent our issues and concerns in the House until 2019. Information and knowledge about our current candidates is imperative if we are to make good decisions. Information and knowledge is the key in our ability to stand tall with a decision. As each educated vote is cast on Nov. 7, we will evolve and start to make a real difference to our local and state government.

Do you know what your incumbent Delegate, Dickie Bell stands for? What has he accomplished? How has he voted? What bills has he introduced? What, and how passionate, are his political convictions?

Have you met candidate Michele Edwards? Do you know who she is? Do you know how she will fight for you? Do you understand her passionate issues? Do you know how strong her convictions are?

What do we know about Will Hammer, the Libertarian?

This is the time to get educated about your local candidates. Don’t you want to make a wise decision this November? This is a huge election for us, locally and throughout Virginia.

Your vote on Nov. 7 will last in Virginia for you and your family until Jan. 2020, and way beyond!

We voters deserve a House of Delegates’ candidate debate ... now!
